Another excellent Christmas lunch walk this year for the West Kent group which began yesterday morning at Pembury village green. The weather forecast had been threatening rain all week but in the event we were blessed with dry, mild weather, even the occasional spot of sunshine. The short morning walk took us through wooded areas, orchards, and farms. It was very wet underfoot and we were all glad to get back to Pembury to swap our muddy trousers and boots ready for the usual Christmas lunch. We were not disappointed, with the usual high quality carvery consisting of turkey, lamb, gammon, and beef, all served with the trimmings, who could not resist going for seconds ? Then followed, a sumptuous selection of desserts. What a way to finish our walks for this year, our 25th year. Happy Christmas to one and all !! Many thanks to Leo Sturgeon for leading the short walk this month.
