Hi Gang,
Well, the weather along with the level of flooding and muddy areas clearly controlled where we could walk. Our original plans where well under water, a raised causeway hard surface path links the town to Moreton. Our options where go out and return the same way, or use the hard footpath along the main road to at least create a circular walk, and get us out of the town.
Having promised we wouldn't need gummies 18 of us first inspected the height of floodwater at the Causeway Bridge. Somehow following the main road wasn't as bad as expected. We were soon in the comfort of a quiet country lane. Exploring old houses, several ammonites on walls we gently made our way back to town.
Those that were concerned at just how far we were going, happily continued the slightly longer route that took us into the main long Market Street.
We split up to consume food on park benches or into local cafes for meals and drinks.
After we headed for the museum, where many of us met up before making our way home.
Thanks again from Paul & Bill for your support.
