What are the chances? You prepare for a short, low level winter walk and you get a weekend of record breaking temperatures! 20 walkers and three dogs turned out for this short climb to the top of the remains of an Iron Age hillfort in the the Vale of Ewyas, near Abergavenny. As well as those who had traveled some distance, we had some locals. Luckily Howard had contacted the landlord of the Queen’s Head at Stanton to arrange extra parking, as another group were meeting at the same point for a walk in the area. After enjoying the fine views from Twyn y Gaer, some members went to enjoy the hospitality at the Queen’s Head and sample the guest ales.
