Promptly at 10.50 our walk leader John and 16 walkers assembled at the start point. At 10.55 it started to rain so we put our jackets on. At 10.58 it started to pour down so we began donning our water-proof over trousers. By 11.00 we were back in our cars watching the rain bounce of the bonnet! After a few “kindly words” from John we were coaxed out into the sunshine!
The day continued to be challenging weather wise, one minute it rained and the next we were bathed in June sunshine and the layers came off. We were also challenged by some hills, mud and long wet grass. Fortunately the route John had planned gave us great views in every direction including Titterstone, The Malverns and Hay Bluff to name but a few. The group photo was taken at our coffee stop in a hill fort here we enjoyed a break, Mango the dog can be seen taking a break in a puddle, well that’s what you need having chased a very fast and elusive hare up and down a field.
Overall an excellent days walking followed by tea and cakes in the grounds of John’s gracious home.
