Surrey Walk 26th May

With a good turn out of 29 people and 1 dog headed off from Dorking for their 11 mile hike.  The spring weather provided perfect walking conditions and everyone was in good spirits.  The clear and bright weather made the wonderful scenery all the more perfect.  After the initial steady incline along the scarp of Ranmore Hill the final steep accent to Ranmore Common was therefore rewarded with a restful break to savour in the view.  Following on then along the North Downs Way further views across Denbies Wine Estate to Box Hill.  After our lunch break near Bookham Wood and besides a little light rain in the air we headed past Norbury Park towards the Mole Gap.  We returned to Dorking via the Mole Gap Trail where as usual and most importantly with the Surrey group, we indulged in lashings of tea and cake.

Thank you to everyone who attended who made the day so pleasant.  Thank you to Gordon and Neil for providing the teas.  To everyone who contributed the delicious abundance of baking: Roger, Chris, Robert, Alice, Justin, Keith, Rupert, Adrian and Gordon.
