On this lovely spring morning 31 people and 1 dog gathered at Dorking Station for a lovely walk lead by Patrick. We heading eastwards out of town towards the Pilgrims Way on the lower reaches of Box Hill where we past the industrial remains of the old lime works on the outskirts of Betchworth. Heading then southward our lunch break was by Betchworth cricket pitch where we were joined by 1 more member for the second half of the walk. The afternoon stretch of the walk followed and interesting network of footpaths that provided some wonderful views of the North Downs and surrounding area. All this enhanced by the clear wall to wall sunshine that we enjoyed for the entirety of the walk. The River Mole was also a prominent feature of our route crossing it several times. The walk was concluded with Surrey's usual enjoyable ritual of tea and cakes.
Many thanks to Patrick for leading such a wonderful walk. Thanks also to Gordon and Neal for the lovely selection teas, all contributors of the delicious cakes, Gordon and Richard for the photos and to everyone's company for the day.
