A warm sunny day greeted a group of 17 GOC members on the familiar New St car park for a walk on an unfamiliar route. Making our way out of town across open fields we got good views of the the church in Churchill a village that we would visit later in the day.
Passing the micro pigs at Sarsden Glebe we paused for coffee by a babbling stream seated on some very deep ridge and furrow. Continuing on we circled Sarsden House, cleverly screened by its extensive gardens we got only a brief glimpse of the impressive country house, former home to an MP who crossed the House and is now a friend of the family, so to speak!
After a lunch stop affording fine views of the countryside, and a brief stop at the impressive water fountain in Churchill, we returned to Chipping Norton where a couple visited the pub whilst most visited my garden for tea/coffee and cakes that were fortunately not home made.
