Seventeen GOC members (and one dog Frankie!) met on the green in Whichford, Warwickshire, for a 7 mile walk through the fields, woodlands and a couple of stone built villages on the edge of the Cotswolds. As usual the group soon found a balanced walking pace and the buzz of banter and chatter echoed off the landscape. One member of the group (Gus) showed that it was possible to complete the entire distance barefoot … very brave, oddly no one else volunteered to join him.
Lunch stop was at the Cherington Arms where sandwiches and drinks were consumed in the garden with the Stour River as a backdrop. After lunch the final half of the walk presented a number of cattle filled fields, no issue for the human contingent but Frankie became a figure of curiosity for the livestock! Returning to Whichford the group split between the Whichford Pottery Cafe and the Norman Knight pub to round the day off. Thank you to everyone who came along.
