South East GOC Tanners Hatch Hostel weekend 20th to 22nd May 2016

What a great weekend deep in the woods of Surrey near to the big house of Polesden Lacey (national Trust), near the town of Dorking.

15 of us squeezed in to this Youth Hostel - formaly a  gamekeepers cottage, with out side toilets, and countles slugs and spiders.

With no pubs and shops nearby we had to make our own fun, so a Gay Quiz on Friday evening, and simple good old fassioned socialising saturday night.

Chris and Peter were the organising team - Chris leading Saturday walk and the quiz, with Peter working 'manfuly' as camp cook the whole weekend.

The Saturday walk took in the surrey hills and heath, and sundays walk lead by the Surrey GOC group (thanks Adrian) did like wise

Hope all enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

At the moment, C & P think they have had enough of the weekends. While enjoyable, they are hard work,,, and,,, we have done '8' of them.

Should anyone be interested in taking over the mantle for the next coupls of years, C & P are happy to help with advice, contacts, ideas etc.

One thing we must say, all the photos on display here were taken by the inestimably skilled Des Winchester. - Thanks Des

Thanks also to Bill and his camper van for acting as taxi for Rail station and Sunday walk and to all who attended for being friendly to all.
