Solent – Hillhead and Titchfield

At long last Spring has arrived. Perfect walking weather and blue skies brought out 11 walkers including a new member from Gosport. We started the walk from the pretty village of Titchfield and walked a little on the road to detour around a path closure. We then joined a track for some 2 miles and with most of the mud now just dried ruts we made good progress to reach the shoreline. Taking the Coastal path to avoid the shingle beach, and having views across to the Isle of Wight and of the many yachts in the Solent, we reached the picnic stop and sat on the sea wall to enjoy Sandwiches and Ice Creams. Leaving the Coast we entered Hillhead Nature Reserve and with some fine scenery though not too many birds we returned to the Car Park.  An easy flat walk of just over 7 miles was appreciated by all and thanks to Martin and Steve for organising and leading the walk.
