Shady goings on in Alcester

Despite the heat 17 brave souls assembled on the car park in Alcester for a 9 mile walk in the searing heat.

A mixture of Alcester's quaint houses, the River Arrow, woodland, forest, farm land and a village cricket pitch provide varied scenery for the the walkers.  A semi-naked man allegedly photographing rare butterflies in the bushes added to the interest for some.

Fortunately the woodland and some tall hedges provide some shade, particularly for the coffee and lunch stops.  The group enjoyed some varied views of the countryside and the heat didn’t dampen the mood or reduced the level of conversation.

Upon returning to the start, some headed for the tea shop, others to the beer garden and a few to Waitrose for a cold drink for the car journey home.
