Roaming along’ish a Roman Road

The most recent South Midlands walk along an old road road should obviously have been a “straight” affair, but not when the route was planned by Mark Parker, we walked along the Roman Road, away from it, back across it, across it, along it, etc etc, until eventually we returned home back along it!

Taking in the lovely villages of Tadmarton, Swalcliffe Lea, Swalcliffe, (coffee by the tithe barn) and Shutford, (lunch by a pub, big mistake!) the group enjoyed wandering through fields of gold, well blue Borage where we were accompanied by the buzz of swarms of friendly bees.

The weather was kind, as was Mark, providing tea/coffee and a choice of cakes in his garden, albeit a thinly disguised Planning Meeting for this months AOG!  The cakes and tea were nonetheless very welcome.
