Reigate Circular Walk April 2015

Despite the gloomy forecast Neil led 21 of us on a splendid walk through very fresh green countryside bedecked with a wide range of wild flowers.  Although we didn’t see any sunshine we didn’t have a single drop of rain either and no mud!

Our lunch stop was in Buckland beside the village pond surrounded by “chocolate box” cottages, St. Mary the Virgin church and the impressive black “tower” barn.

Towards the end of our walk we passed by Reigate Heath Windmill which was consecrated after it ceased to be used as a mill.  Neil was able to obtain the key so we saw the interior of the tiny church which is under the post beams.

Thanks to our bakers and marketeers for ensuring that we had a bite to accompany our cups of tea (thanks for the teas David!):-

Custard tartlets – Rupert

Chocolate Brownies – Rachel and Charlotte

Swiss Roll – Aidan and Brian

Cherry tarts – Robert

Lemon Drizzle – Gordon.
