North Face of the Plain 3-4-22

Just occasionally a walk turns out to be far greater than the sum of its' parts. By that, I mean the original plan and trial walk created in my mind something that I felt would suffice. Nice views, varied terrain, good distance.

The resulting reactions and comments from attendees on the day, opened my mind to what a smashing walk this was. Something of interest around every corner. A new topic of conversation. A different experience to share.

For the record, this 7 miler started from the west Wiltshire village of Edington, known for its Priory church and summer music festival. The route climbed the northern escarpment of Salisbury plain, followed the edge of the military training area, before dropping down to the the village of Bratton and returning via field paths back to the start.

Many thanks to those who came along - you made my day.
