Hi Gang,

Lost count of how many members were originally planning to attend. Considering the weather prospects were not good we had three cancel on the morning leaving five of us armed with waterproofs and umbrella's. Steve Ford had travelled from Essex having caught trains and buses to be with us. With minimum rain, which rapidly reduced followed by warm bright sunshine we wandered around Warborough followed by the shortest, most inspiring route across to Dorchester. We normally are up in Long Wittenham Clumps looking down, this time they remained the backdrop, increasing in magnitude as we approached. In Dorchester we stopped for drinks and buns, along with our picnic lunch watching Wimbledon on a outdoor screen. After Steve was given a personal guided tour of the Abbey by our Andrew W. We then toured the village looking at buildings, plants etc. By 2.30pm the museum and tea shop was open, so exhibitions on the "Midsomer Murders" cast, more cream teas, chocolate cake before we set out along the River Thames Tow Path back towards Warborough. Reaching our transport some had final drinks at the "Six Bells" public house before we headed off. App says we did 8.95miles.... Thanks for your support. Bill & Paul
