Kingston to Kimmeridge Via Swyre Head and the Jurassic Coast

On a very sunny hot day 13 of us meet at Houns -Tout car park. We then walked up to Swyre Head supposedly the highest point in the Purbecks and looked at the wonderful views of the Jurassic Coast. Leaving there we took the zig-zag path which was quite a challenge due to all the gorse growth this year down to Rope Lake Head on the cliff top. We proceeded along on the coastal path passing Clavell Tower and down to Kimmeridge Bay where we had our picnic lunch. After lunch we walked to Kimmeridge Village stopping on the way for ice creams. Some brave warriors walked up the long Smedmore hill back to the car park while the rest took the ease route and  went by car. We all returned to Laurence’s house for tea and food.
