July’s Rough Tor

Our Rough Tor walk (pronounced row as in an argument) made a fabulous day out for the group this July. Lead by Simon and Steve in a very scenic East Cornwall location the walk was attended by myself, Shaun, Martin (x2!) Neville and Chris.

We trecked through a Wartime Airfield Site spotting various interesting objects along the way. There was also a view of Brown Willy (the highest point of Bodmin Moor) only a very short distance away from us. We went through various other fields, together with areas of open woodland in close proximity to the Crowdy Reservoir (Ironically in such a remote area that you couldnt describe it as 'crowded'). Highlights towards the end of the walk were a stop at a local tearoom but even more so a light 'dip' in the stream near to.our starting point to cool off in the immensely hot weather.
