On my second day on the Cotswold Way I had the lovely company of Paul Ashcroft and Mark Parker of the South Midlands group. A big cheer for South Midlands.
With the exception of one small shower we had a super day learning a lot about the area, Damian Hirst's house, a victim of the Wests, 13th centuary art, drovers meeting place, 16th centuary dissolutions and Henry VIII castle gift to a wife.
The feature pic is a Cotswold cottage in picture postcard village of Stanton
The supplementary pics are of a Lodge to Stanway Castle, 13th centuary wall paintings uncovered in Hailes Church, the stone age burial mound of Belas Knap, Mark and I near Thomas Cromwell seat from which he allegedly contemplated the dissolution of Hailes Abbey and a street scene in Winchcombe
