Isle of Purbeck weekend Away

What a weekend we had, although the weather was forecast to be overcast the sun shone brightly over the 29 walkers from various groups that turned up for the Saturday walk. Richard had planned the walk so superbly it allowed people to join the walk at various points and those that wanted to spend extra time in Swanage to stay there.

Saturday night 19 of us descended on the Corner Restaurant in Swanage and were treated to some excellent reasonably priced food if you are in the Swanage area this restaurant is definitely worth a look up The Corner Restaurant.

Sunday some of the Saturday walkers decided to go and sunbathe at Studland but were replaced by a number of walkers that came for the day to see Gordons infamous legs as he led 28 of us from Corfe Castle out towards Old Harry Rocks as with Richard Gordon had planned this walk so that people could join at stages and they could also circumnavigate some of the steeper inclines.

On our walk a lovely lady sunbather asked "Why are you all men in your group?" To which we replied "We are members of the Gay Outdoor Club". She was delighted to find this out and told us how wonderful we are and I am sure she wanted to join our merry band.

This weekend saw people from many GOC Groups which reinforces why as we celebrate our 40th anniversary we still continue to grow
