I did say there would be mud. There was, lots of it!

At 11.00 am sharp in Alcester 22 GOC walkers, including 2 Committee Members, 2 Group Coordinators, a recently retired Group Coordinator and 2 dogs joined me for a 7.5 mile walk from Alcester.
The promised mud was evident as soon as we left the town and was present for much of the walk, I’ve been told I’m in the running for the Freckleton Muddiest Walk of the year award.  Negotiating the kissing gates was particularly interesting with up to 6 inches of very slippery mud, despite this everyone remained upright, well almost!
As we progressed toward our lunch stop the cause of the deep ruts, mud and puddles along one lane appeared in the shape of two very muddy 4x4’s.
At Coughton Court the group paused for lunch and a photo shoot before taking a well earned rest and lunch.  The route back along the river was slightly less muddy and everyone chatted about their Christmas and New Year activities and plans for 2020.  Returning to Alcester some returned home whilst most enjoyed beer, tea and coffee in a local pub.
