Haslemere to the Devils Punchbowl

A pleasant day was enjoyed by 20 members on this  this wonderful walk led by Robert.  The weather provided perfect dry walking conditions with enough high cloud cover to maintain a modest and comfortable temperature.   We ascended from our meeting point in Haslemere through wooded paths and tracks to the National Trust Centre at Hindhead.  And a relaxed coffee break was taken here with it's fabulous view of the Devil's Punchbowl.  We then walked further along through wooded and open areas on good path of this sandy terrain.  Descending and ascending again to the beautiful viewpoint of Gibbet Hill where we enjoyed our lunch.  The afternoon was fairly easy and steady walking back to the car park. Here the usual beverages of tea and cakes rounded the day off nicely.

Thank you to Robert for leading this lovely walk.  To Gordon and Neil for providing the teas.  To the bakers; Gary, Robert C, Robert L, Adrian, Gordon, Richard and Marco.
