Despite the Forecast, 13 of us set off from Witley Station under leaden skies.
Intially we stayed dry enjoying the views of heather, around 11.20 the rain commenced as we were halfway across a field! I briskly led the group to the end of the field as I knew that the trees would provide reasonable shelter.
Having had a coffee break and put on our waterproofs we continued to follow the Octavia hill trail before diverting to Winkworth Aboretum.
Winkworth has some splendid views and luckily the weather improved for our Lunchtime stop.
Then the walk took us through enchanting woods around the edge of Hascombe, before going back via Hambledon church and the Downs.
On returning to the carpark we all enjoyed tea and delicious cakes generously provided by Rupert, Gary, Robert and James.
