A Summer Wiston Wander

1 Sep 2017 | Sussex Group

In August Chris led us on a lovely walk from Wiston, not far from Steyning. There were thirteen humans plus four dogs, making a very jolly crowd. The weather turned out to be perfect for the day. Despite seeing him several times looking at the map and scratching his head we knew that Chris was in control and could be totally relied on - probably. Everything passed faultlessly of course.

The first part of the walk had minor bits of mud and plenty of shade as we walked through Godshill woods towards Hale. Then once we got to open countryside we realised why the walk leader was wearing long trousers some of the paths were so overgrown it looked like we were P....

26 May 2016 | East Kent, London, Surrey, Sussex, West Kent Groups

15 of us squeezed in to this Youth Hostel - formaly a gamekeepers cottage, with out side toilets, and countles slugs and spiders.

With no pubs and shops nearby we had to make our own fun, so a Gay Quiz on Friday evening, and simple good old fassioned socialising saturday night.

Chris and Peter were the organising team - Chris leading Saturday walk and the quiz, with Peter working 'manfuly' as camp cook the whole weekend....
