Sherborne Park and Windrush Valley. Oct 2018

16 Oct 2018 | South Midlands Group

My walk in Sherborne Park and the Windrush Valley was advertised on line with a picture of the large layby on the A40 which was not going to run out of parking space. The forecast was for some rain over the weekend but with Sunday dry but cooler. I had 12 people booked to come on the walk including a new potential Member.

Here Mark Parker the GC explained both his links with the village and the life and times of its most famous resident Felix Dennis....

We were rewarded with a diverse landscape of farmland, riverside trails, parkland, lakes and woods. For fans of the unusual, we were also treated to various points of interest, including the Beckham’s country retreat; our Prime Minister’s childhood home; Soho Farmhouse, playground of the rich and famous …and zebras!

The picturesque ...
