Adrian led 22 (plus 4 dogs) of us on a lovely walk through through dappled shaded woodland and open fields with most of it dry underfoot.  After the winds and rain from storm Brian yesterday I had been expecting a cloudy day but it was not to be,  the sun shone for most of the day.  The walk took us through a number of familiar places but together they formed an ingenious new route.  The terrain was mainly undulating with one long climb onto the North Downs and as we know “hills mean views”.

At the end of the walk we had a positive cornucopia of delicious food thanks to our many bakers and marketeers:-

Rich fruit cake - Kate

Banana loaf - Rose

Chorizo and bean parcels - Rupert

Chocolate chip cookies - Mary

Savoy cake - Mary

Mince pies - Robert

Date and walnut cake - Gordon

All these goodies were washed down with copious cups of tea or coffee. Apologies for those of you who had cold coffee - our experts are investigating the thermal efficiency of the suspect flask and a full report will be issued later.

Gordon.
