The Western Midlands held their second social event of the year on the 27th May 2018, this time we went to the Wildwood Kitchen in New Street, Birmingham. There was a turnout of 15 members, including one newcomer (welcome to GOC and we hope to see you on another event soon!) which was an increase of over 100% compared to February’s social. GOCers from the Western Midlands and South Midlands Groups enjoyed Italian specialities such as pizza, lasagne and seafood linguine as well as more home-grown dishes like Eton Mess; they probably undid the effect of a whole year’s healthy walking in one evening. Afterwards most of the party ventured down to the Gay village for a drink or two in Equator bar. Whether some ventured further afield later one, who can tell?
All present said the evening was a great success therefore we will be returning to Birmingham for another social event on the 29th June. This time we will be going to Byron’s Proper Hamburgers, which should be easy to find as it is directly opposite the Wildwood Kitchen at 92, New Street, post code B2 4BA. Note that the starting time will be later at 7.30pm.
