GLOUCESTER – ‘A Day to Remember’

We were all thrilled to be joined by a cross group of 25 GOC'ers; ladies, gentlemen, three Group Coordinators, a Board member and a black labrador ...... friends, old and new.

We commemorated Remembrance Sunday at 11.00 with the congregation of Twigworth Church, near Gloucester, next to the war memorial, and then at the graveside of Ivor Gurney, the war poet, we heard one of his better known works; 'To His Love', then each dedicated a small remembrance. After this, moving moment, we rambled across the meadows and fields for a 7 mile sunny, circular 'stroll', a stop for lunch at Gloucestershire Airport, with time to catch up and share our news and gossip. The rain stayed away, and the smiles were evident as we shuffled through the golden carpet that this beautiful Autumn has yielded.
