Frodsham, Cheshire – Saturday 14th October 2017

6 of us set off from Beacon Hill Sandstone Trail Car Park and enjoyed a 4½ mile most interesting walk around the hills above Frodsham, led by Peter, taking in ancient graffiti, quarries, caves and fine views. There was a magnificent panorama out west to the Clwydian Hills and to the front of the Mersey Estuary and beyond to John Lennon Airport and Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. We stopped for lunch at the side of Crow Mere with it's intersting bird life and were fortunate in that the weather was unusually warm for this time of year.

Peter has been involved in the production of a new book from which this walk was taken:  The Ridge: Rocks and Springs - a sandstone legacy. It was compiled for The Sandstone Ridge Trust by the volunteers of The Ridge: Rocks and Springs Project, 2014-2017

We were kindly entertained to afternoon tea at Peter's house afterwards.
