Elham Valley walk in East Kent

On Sunday the 27th of October 2019 on the day that the clocks gained an hour, the East Kent group had a walk in the Elham Valley area.  The previous months walk had a lot of rain, so as the walk leader I was concerned we would have similar weather for this walk.  Especially as Kent has had a lot of rain in the last month.  Fortunately we were blessed with lovely sunny weather which helped get a total of 14 walkers out, sadly no local ladies attended, although they would be more than welcome.

We travelled over cropped fields, ascending and descending many hills and through some pretty woodland and a Kent Wildlife Trust National Nature Reserve.  We started from the small village square by Elham church at 1030 and got back at about 1600.  Some of the attached photos show us having lunch.  After the walk finished, some of the group retired to The Kings Arms for a sociable drink.  It is a friendly cosy place and a good time was had by all present.

Nest month we are starting from Teynham train station and I hope we get a good turn out there too.  Thank you for reading this message.
