It was a pleasure to welcome the West Wales Group to our area for their "Somerset Weekend" and to have familiar faces from the Somerset Group for this walk.
A good group of us headed out from Ebbor Gorge towards Wells encountering a bear in the woods ( a wicker one ) and taking in Wookey Hole Village on the way. A few climbs along the way before we starting dropping downwards into Wells. A brief guide of where things were for newcomers to the City then everyone was let loose for an hour or so to explore. As we all assembled at the right time and in the right place after lunch ( impressive ! ) it was time to head out of Wells taking in Vicars Close. A gentle climb up out of Wells with a harder climb back up onto the higher hills - but rewarded by good views and a steady walk back to Ebbor Gorge. We all opted for a scramble down the Gorge at the end.
Thanks to all who attended and also to Mark for co leading the walk and dealing with the fiddly bits of successfully getting us into and out of Wells.
