A varied walk of byways and riverside paths followed an initial climb up the Cotswold way to Kelston round hill, with views over the wide Avon valley from Bath and Bristol to the forest of Dean.
Sunshine and a pleasant cooling breeze contributed to an overall enjoyable day in excellent company, the flagging spirits of which were revived upon arrival at a pub.
Some discussion was had over the length of this 10 mile walk, appearing to suffer from inflation, a vicious rumour of 12 miles is strenuously denied.
