DUCKLINGTON, WITNEY, COGGES, Oxfordshire

Hi Gang,

Well another successful walk with 9 friends, some we haven't seen for some time - this time in unchartered areas, which to be fair resulted in not just one prewalk but 5!!! Started in the picturesque village of Ducklington before heading to Witney and its dominating church spire. Onwards along pedestrianised lanes through Cogges with its Rural Life Museum (another church) before recrossing the noisy A40 bypass into gravel pits. Ultimately reached landscaped pits with seats to be entertained by two Cuckoo's Comunicating with each other above our heads. Unfortunately the rain also decided to visit!!!! Then back to the River Windrush for more meanders till we reached the Fritillary Field followed by a well earned "First Group Pub Drink". Thanks for your support. Bill & Paul
