Such is Rays reputation as an excellent walk leader that people travelled from as far away as the Forrest of Dean, Norwich and yes Sydney! In all 20 "walkers" were present at the start of the walk in glorious sunshine in the pretty village of Broadway.
We paused for a coffee stop by the duck pond in Willersey another picturesque cotswold village. Some rested in the shade whilst others enjoyed there refreshments in the sunshine watching the ducks on the pond and admiring their island, complete with its duck house.
We then started the long and seemingly never ending climb in the baking hot sun up Dovers Hill. We were rewarded by panoramic views and lunch. The return route to Broadway was along easy paths, through welcome shade in woodland and back down Fish Hill into Broadway, where many enjoyed more refreshments in a beer garden.
It was a great walk with lively conversation as friends caught up and gossiped. Thank you Ray for another brilliant walk.
