On a bright but blustery day our brave band of 6 headed up to the Jurassic coast from Herston to be met with full on 50mph winds as we edged along the cliff tops. As we began our decent down to Dancing Ledge through thorny thickets we disturbed two deer from their winter hiding place.
We explored the stone formations and caves of Dancing Ledge amid towering waves before proceeding further along the cliffs to Seacombe Bottom. Enroute we foraged numerous delicious Field Blewit wild mushrooms thanks to Derek our mushroom expert.
Turning inland we climbed the ridge to follow the ancient Priests Way path back to Herston. Arriving just in time before the heavens opened we enjoyed a sumptuous tea at our leaders house later to be joined by some new members just down from London.
