On a glorious summer's day our group of 10 was divided into two cohorts to observe social distancing. We commenced a stroll along an ancient roman road to reach Upton Heath. Here we traversed the heath with its bountiful blooming heather and enjoyed commanding views across to Poole harbour.
Descending the heath we followed the track of the old Somerset & Dorset railway into Upton Country Park; where we traversed the shore path around Holes Bay spotting the local wildlife including birds of prey.
After a refreshment stop in the walled gardens of Upton House we again found ourselves on the roman road leading back to the start point.
