A bright and dry day greeted our band of 10 (including a member from our neighbouring Solent Group) as we commenced our short tour of Poole Old Town beautifully lit by the low December sunshine. We emerged onto the Quay admiring the luxury yatchs moored outside the Sunseeker Factory before passing the historic pubs along the seafront.
As we followed the harbourside crowded with small fishing boats we enjoyed far reaching views across Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island and distant Corfe Castle. Further along the shoreline we reached Poole Park and Boating Lake but were prevented from crossing under the railway to reach it due to flooding.
A short diversion through the suburb of Lilliput with its commanding properties eventually brought us to Poole Park with its many leisure amenities. Back in Poole Town Centre we enjoyed a quick pint before retiring to Ginali's Restaurent for a sumptuous Xmas Lunch.
