On a very warm day 10 of us plus one dog met up by the old Wareham townwalls. We walked along part of the wall and then descended down to Wareham Common following the river Piddle along to the watermill at West Mills where we crossed the river. Returning along the opposite bank of the River Piddle back to Wareham we passed many swans and their cygnets. Some of us visited the Old Saxon Church on the wall before proceeding further along the river past the old gravel pit lake to Swineham Point with views across the reeds to Poole Harbour. At this point joining the River Frome back to Wareham Quay where had a picnic and pub stop watching the baby ducks with their parents playing in the river.
