This turned out to be a "dog and bog" walk as noted by one of the 14 of us who set out on a fine sunny morning to a remote part of the New Forest, admiring the rich variety of autumn colours among the trees. The intention was to start, finish and have lunch at the High Corner Inn, a figure of 8 walk. Then a small dog attached itself to us sometime in the middle of the morning. Thanks to John G and an improvised lead it followed us all the way back to the pub, where we re-united it with its owner. The bog came later in the morning, resulting in a later than planned lunch and a unanimous decision to forgo the afternoon walk and return early to the leader's home in Bournemouth for soup and tea.
