Cornwall – A Christmas walk, A Christmas lunch and some thoughts for AOG 2016.

Twenty one of us, including one new guy, and two dogs gathered at The Carnon Inn near

Truro for our Christmas get together.

To work up an appetite we had a three mile hike to Point on the Restronguet Creek where we

enjoyed stunning views over the land and water. It was then uphill all the way back to The

Inn for lunch. Must admit the majority of us opted for the roast turkey while a few chose

alternatives from the menu.

During and after lunch we held a short meeting to put in place some ideas for our hosting of

AOG 2016. This will be based at the Penryn Campus, University of Cornwall. Already things

are falling into place and this event looks like it will be an excellent weekend with plenty

going on, both physical, cultural and of a more relaxed but interesting nature.

The weather was perfect for our winter walk – the temperature was 13C; no wind, no rain.

We were pretty hot and sweaty by the time we’d arrived back at the Inn for lunch!
