Cold Aston, Gloucs, 11th Feb 2018.

South Midlands group returned to the Cotswolds today for an excellant 6.5 mile walk starting from Cold Aston, Gloucs.

Many thanks to John for discovering this walk and sharing it with us.

Cold Aston certainly lived up to its name today, but a little winter sunshine and spectacular views kept spirits high.  Sixteen walkers, plus Frankie the dog, thoroughly enjoyed a very social and convivial walk.

Although cold, the weather remained dry for most of the walk, with only one passing snow storm which arrived with perfect timing, just as we were having our picnic lunch adjacent to a derelict barn, where we were able to take shelter for a while.

At the end of the walk most of us moved on to nearby Stow-on-the-Wold to find a warm and welcoming tearoom, where we spent an enjoyable hour chatting over the day and clearing out the entire stock of cakes on the premises.

Thank you all for coming, see you next month.  Mark, x
