Well, the weather may have been a bit grey and dreary, but the 28 intrepid walkers who set out from Clifford Chambers were certainly bright and cheerful for our first South Midlands outing of 2017.
We set off following farm tracks accross the fields until we picked up the Monarchs Way which follows The Greenway Recreational Route, heading away from Stratford-upon-Avon, along the route of a disused railway line.
After a 15 minute stop for coffee at the Carriages Cafe at Milcote, we turned around and walked back along The Greenway towards Stratford and our lunch stop. We had our picnic on the banks of the River Avon, looking accross to the weir and beyond, the Church, before heading back accross the fields to our starting point. A number of us then retired to the pub for a swift half before heading home.
It was good to see so many of you out in January, especially from all corners of the Midlands, and several new faces as well, even the sun finally made a brief appearance. We hope you will all join us again soon.
