Christmas Lunch–including walk at Burry Port

Undaunted by the intermittent drizzle a dozen or so of us met at Burry Port and walked to the old harbour near Pembrey, then along the beach to the nearby harbour at Burry Port taking a short detour to the lovely little Lighthouse there.

Ensuring beforehand that the namesake cafe--The Lighthouse--would be open, we ventured inside for a welcome cuppa before making our way to The Ashburnham for lunch. Other friends/members met us there to make 23 in total to celebrate in style with a 3 course carvery meal.

The table setting seemed perfect, making it easy for social interactions between all the group members old and new.

Funny (and not so funny) Xmas hats appeared with impressive "Blue Peter" handiwork being put in by some.

The Hotel's hospitality was first class for the second year running with a varied selection of very tasty food on offer and it was obvious that everyone was enjoying immensely.

Conversations and speeches ensued and the time seemed to fly--always a sign of a good time being had by all.

The people on the other tables eventually left, so we made our farewells, reluctantly departing.

Now do we repeat this very successful event, same time same place next year......................???
