Burgh Island

The last couple of walks were plagued by the weather and one having to be postponed until a future date. This time things turned out for the better and walkers were greeted with a brisk chilly wind and sunshine.

Two dogs and 10 walkers set off towards Burgh Island, famous for being used in various TV programmes including Agatha Christie's "Evil Under the Sun", via fields and a couple of energetic climbs. We came across wonderful views over to Bantham Sands, Burgh Island and Star Point. We descended down to the Causeway and the start of Free Time to have a drink, eat and explore Island and soak up the atmosphere and amazing south Devon scenery.

After our Free Time the walk continued along a short section of the South West Coastal Path to Challaborough and a steady climb before heading back inland and to our starting point at Ringmore. A walk well recommended to visitors to south Devon.
