Broadway, the village and escarpment.

A beautiful autumn day, some sunshine and a chill in the air.  The intrepid group of 6 walkers were soon warmed up with a steady climb soon after leaving the picturesque Cotswold village of Broadway.  No sooner had we started to descend than another long steady climb through the woods at Weston Park, puntuated by a coffee stop, kept us puffing a little until we reached the top of the Broadway escarpment.

Making our way along the escarpment we encountered a short road walk, blocked footpaths and signs that appeared to contradict our OS maps!  We eventually arrived at our lunch stop at the picnic site at the top of the infamous Fish Hill.

After lunch we continued along the escarpment until we reached Broadway Tower.  We were able to enjoy the stunning views eastwards, taking in the magnificent Malvern Hills and Black Mountains beyond.

Finally we started our descent down field paths and an old drovers road until we arrived back in Broadway, 5 hours after we started.  I think we all enjoyed the experience, I certainly did.
