Bramley, Blackheath Common and Shamley Green

On a beautiful sunny day 18 of us and three dogs, set off on a walk led by Rupert from Chinthurst hill carpark.

The walk although a little muddy provided lovely views from Blackheath Common as we made our way towards the south side of Shamley Green.

I was amazed by the plethora of Fungi varieties growing along the route which had undoubtedly benefitted from the recent rain!

At the end of Green Lane I was pleased that a new member of the group Jackie was able to join us having encountered problems with road closures just a mile from Chinthurst hill car park.

We continued up a few gradual inclines to our lunch stop at Christ Church in Shamley Green, where we also met up with Peter.

The walk then took us along the disused Wey and Arun Canal before descending into the delightful village of Bramley.

Having completed the last section of the walk along the old railway path we all enjoyed tea and cakes supplied by Neil & Gordon, James, Robert, Rupert, Keith, Gary and Mark.
