Beesands

Crystal Clear Blue Skies welcomed 20 walkers for the walk from Beesands and return for tea and cakes.

Our leaders David and Nick set off at pace through beautiful Devon lanes to Beeson, where we headed onto track and field walking. We climbed to our highest point on the walk with wonderful views to Slapton Sands, Slapton Ley, The Tower (Day Beacon) showing the way to Dartmouth and Kingswear. Our walk then continued downwards to Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve and a welcomed lunch break. Suitable refreshed we set out along the edge of the Ley and towards the beach.

At this point our leaders allowed us the options of following the beach or Ley paths and to meet in Torcross. We made our choice and set off towards the meeting point and a break for ice creams and a chance to take in the wonderful view back across Slapton Sands. The last section of the walk took us upwards through lanes, fields and beach to the start point.

The Next Devon GOC walk starts in South Brent 4 October.
