Avon Valley from Bradford to Limpley Stoke 18 Nov 18

A cool bright day greeted our intrepid band for a late autumn walk in the Bristol Avon valley.

Starting from Bradford on Avon, following the Kennet & Avon canal as far as the Bradford sewage works, from where a field and woodland path was taken to Avoncliff with it's canalside housing and stone aquaduct. Leaving Avoncliff by the riverside path through more woodland and across the water meadow to Freshford. Lunch was consumed on Freshford station before passing Freshford sewage works and gaining the riverside field path to the delightfully named Limpley Stoke. A short section of road, another field and the Kennet & Avon towpath was once again reached for the return leg of the walk. Turning left by Winsley sewage works, taking the fishermans path to Avoncliff and returning to Bradford and its' tithe barn via the riverside country park.

A fairly level walk with the remnants of autumn colours was followed the Wilts/Glos planning meeting in a pub.
