Y Garn

While the weather has turned for the better (if you ignore the current issue of high pollution levels), we still managed to find pockets of snow on our walk up Y Garn.  A respectable 11am start from Ogwen Cottage seemed not respectable enough for some - mind, the changing of the clocks has been known to catch a few people out in the past.  In total seven members of the North Wales group met up for a trip to Y Garn, one of Snowdonia's 3000ft peaks lying just past the better known Glyder Fawr.

Our route saw us tackling the steep walk past the Devil's Kitchen then, instead of taking the scree slopes towards Glyder Fawr, turning right for a more "gentle" ascent to Y Garn.  Taking a break at the summit, it's fair to say most of us could have spent several hours just sitting in the sun and enjoying the day, however the long walk back down beckoned.
