The weather was looking ominous for the walk today - very wet and horrible as we left Weston-Super-Mare and continued wet and horrible on the drive to the start of the walk. However, shortly after the start time of the walk the weather improved, and then improved a whole lot more and we ended up with a sunny and warm day.
It was a really enjoyable walk of about 8.5 miles taking in moorland, riverside and lakeside paths, centred around Wimbleball Lake, with some spectacular views of moorland and the Lake. And even time during the afternoon for tea and some scrummy cake at the Cafe on the Lakeside before heading off again on the final stage of the walk.
Many thanks to John and Martin for putting together and leading a thoroughly enjoyable walk and to Michael for coming along. A good day out in good company.
