Nigel and Richard led us on a delightful walk heading off from Ranmore through a network of paths that ensured no one went home with clean boots. 38 members including a new attendee and 10 ladies which is superb, as Gordon worked really hard to encourage thr females of our community to attend GOC events and we are now seeing a regular number of female walkers.
The weather was kind to us and managed to stay dry with a chill in the air until we were 50 metres from the car park, when it decided if we wanted tea and cake we were going to get wet. How resillient are the Surrey group we still managed to get through 5 flasks of tea and I wouldn't like to guess how many calories were eaten with the fine offerings of cake.
Our thanks go out to Richard and Nigel who have given their full support to GOC Surrey and will continue to support GOC from their new home in Cornwall, as well as leading a walk at the Isle of Purbeck weekend. May you both have a great time together as you set out on your new adventures.
Unfortunately we didn't get to notice who baked or bought all the cakes but the sharp eyed Gordon has given me a list of what he spotted, if you bought or baked a cake and your name is not on the list please accept virtual hugs
